Counseling for Trauma

Trauma counseling helps you process those difficult moments that you have lived through, yes, even the ones that happened years ago.
It can help you regain a sense of stability, clarity, and control in your life.

Making sense of what still feels unresolved

Take the first step with a free 15-minute session

progressive way

Therapy helps you understand trauma, regulate emotional responses, and rebuild a sense of safety, control, and stability. You get consistent support, practical insight, and space to process experiences at your own pace.

How I help my clients

I approach trauma work with care, steadiness, and respect for your pace. The process begins with a clear exploration of your current emotional state, which reflects the burdens you have been carrying. The purpose of my work is to create an environment where you can explore what feels safe to share, while we analyze the trauma-based patterns and emotional responses together.

I integrate trauma-informed care and psychoeducation with gentle, compassionate, and authentic support to help you understand how trauma impacts both the mind and body. This foundation creates safety, awareness, and emotional stability, allowing you to feel more grounded before moving deeper into the work.

From there, for clients who are ready to process trauma more directly, we transition into EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR becomes the primary modality after psychoeducation and trauma-informed care, helping you reprocess traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity and lasting impact. Throughout our work, we focus on building practical tools to manage overwhelming moments, strengthen self-trust, and create greater stability in everyday life.

This process is collaborative and guided by your goals for therapy. We move at a pace that feels manageable, with the intention of helping you feel more grounded, clearer, and more supported as you move forward.

Childhood abuse – emotional, physical, or sexual

Childhood experiences usually have their long-term emotional weight attached, particularly when family relationships are deeply connected to your current life. You might find yourself navigating through complex emotions, loyalty conflicts, or cultural demands that emphasize “family first”,  even though those dynamics may have been painful.

The process of therapy is not about assigning blame. It is about understanding your emotions, how they have shaped you, and what your path toward healing and growth looks like on your terms.

  • Work through complicated family dynamics and histories
  • Explore boundaries, distance, or continued relationships with clarity
  • Build confidence after emotional or physical harm
  • Understand patterns carried into adulthood
  • Begin breaking generational cycles of trauma and abuse
  • Learn to hold compassion for yourself while choosing healthier paths
Childhood abuse emotional, physical or sexual

What to expect

Psychoeducation

We use educational material to learn about the how and why behind your feelings while learning grounding and soothing techniques to help you lower your stress levels and stay in the moment.

EMDR – Transforming Traumatic Memories Safely

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is a highly effective modality that helps your brain move forward from stagnant or unresolved memories in a way that feels grounded and self-directed.

Compassionate trauma-informed care

I create a space that prioritizes safety, choice, and respect while recognizing how trauma shapes emotional, mental, and physical responses. I offer steady support that validates your unique experiences and resilience while helping you move forward.

How I work

Signs of meaningful progress

Reacting less intensely to situations that once felt overwhelming

Finding it easier to name what you’re feeling and why

Feeling more connected in conversations and relationships

Taking more time before responding instead of going into survival mode

Noticing moments of calm, clarity, or steadiness during the week

Due to unfortunate circumstances I had to part ways, but she is amazing. I would say out of the 7 or 8 therapist i've worked with in my lifetime she has been the most successful in helping me and educating me ✨

Blanca has helped me a lot with my issues. I feel so much better talking to her without having to worry about being judged or being talked down to. She truly tries her best to understand you and your background and will adjust treatment plans based on how you react to them. Will definitely go to her again once I need her for other issues that come about. Super grateful!

After seeing a few therapists who told me I wasn’t responding the way I should to their methods, I found Blanca, and everything changed. She’s more than just a therapist — she’s become a true friend in my life. Blanca is a progressive therapist who’s all about keeping it real. Her guidance feels like a breath of fresh air in 2024, with advice that’s practical, relevant, and deeply grounded in today’s world. She’s incredibly honest, never sugar-coating what needs to be heard, yet always delivering it with genuine kindness that shows how much she truly cares. Blanca’s approach is what the modern person needs — refreshing and forward-thinking, and she has a way of making everything click. I always leave our sessions feeling seen, supported, and ready to face whatever life throws my way. If you’re looking for someone who truly listens, keeps it real, and makes a lasting impact, Blanca is the one. I can’t recommend her enough!

I absolutely loved working with Blanca. I would recommend her to anyone looking to do EMDR. She was always very patient, and kind. She pushes you just enough when you need it and other times let you talk and just be.

I was feeling intimidated by the idea of finding a new therapist. After issues with my previous therapist, the idea of baring my soul to someone else I didn’t know did not sit well with me. Thankfully, Blanca has been an incredible source of wisdom, comfort, and support. She has become one of my safe spaces where I can truly open up and reveal my tangle of emotions as well as my difficult life experiences without feeling judged. She has shown me new perspectives and techniques that are helping me to cope and to heal. I feel like I have made significant progress and I am hopeful about where our continued sessions will lead.
